FSI advises on £60 million Les Cars Rouges deal

Fri, 04 Mar 2011

FSI, in conjunction with our French Meritas colleagues Bignon Lebray, advised the shareholders of Les Cars Rouges on their merger with the Big Bus Tours group of companies.

Les Cars Rouges operate open-top bus tours in Paris, Rome, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Washington DC whilst Big Bus Tours run their sightseeing buses in London, Dubai, Philadelphia Hong Kong and Shanghai. Les Cars Rouges brought the concept of hop-on hop-off double-decker tour buses to Paris. It is estimated that the merged group will employ more than 800 staff and will entertain over 2 million visitors a year. The combined turnover the merged group will be around £60 million.

The transaction involved multiple jurisdictions, including France, the UK, the USA and Dubai and FSI worked closely with Bignon Lebray in France and the Les Cars Rouges Legal Manager Clotilde Vaissiere Rufenacht . FSI’s team was led by partner Peter Carter (Corporate), supported by Gillian White (Corporate) and Jacques Goyet led the team at Bignon Lebray.

Peter Carter commented “it has been a great pleasure to work with our French colleagues to get a successful outcome on this multi-jurisdictional deal.”
