Peter is a consultant in the real estate team.  He specialises in planning law, covering a wide range of industry sectors including residential, retail, leisure, commercial offices, manufacturing and warehousing, healthcare and pharmaceutical research & development.

He deals with major development schemes, advises on planning applications and related procedural issues, and negotiates planning and highways agreements.

Recent work advising

• a developer client and its team of consultants on promoting, as a potential strategic site of 200 hectares, a sustainable mixed-use residential and employment development, through a West Midlands Authority's Core Strategy
• on drafting detailed heads of terms for planning obligations for a 600 dwellings urban extension, in support of a planning application and for use at a Core Strategy Examination
• on agreeing a planning agreement for the extension of a major public building (Grade I listed) at the World Heritage Site at Greenwich
• Counsel in preparing High Court challenges, including a leading case on the unlawful designation of a conservation area and an important decision relating to the designation of a village green
• on and/or negotiating the planning obligations for inclusion in planning agreements for a variety of development types, including extensions to a well-known Grade II* listed hotel on Piccadilly, residential development on a former distribution centre in Eccles, and the extension of a private members' club in Mayfair
