Kimberly Morris Of Counsel: Litigation

Kimberly has worked as a commercial barrister and solicitor for 15 years. She has represented and provided advice to both claimants and defendants in a wide range of areas including contract disputes, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes and complex commercial litigation proceedings. Kimberly has extensive trial and arbitration experience and is a seasoned advocate having appeared as lead counsel in a commercial trials, employment trials, estates and defamation cases.
She is committed to providing client centred legal services and works closely with her clients to understand their business and the problems they face. Kimberly's strength is to assist client's to proactively avoid litigation before it begins and is experienced in providing and advising on risk management practices.
Kimberly is a certified mediator and holds a Masters of Law in
Alternative Dispute Resolution. She was a court appointed mediator to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice where she provided mediation services for ten years. Kimberly has mediated to successful resolution numerous two party and multiparty disputes in a wide variety of disciplines ranging from commercial claims, estates and trusts disputes, employment disputes to personal injury disputes.
Kimberly has been a speaker and instructor of dispute resolution techniques and practices, including mediation and trial advocacy skills for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, Osgoode Hall Law School, the University of Toronto Law School and The Advocates’ Society.
As recipient of a Harold G Fox Scholarship, (a Fox Scholar), Kimberly was a pupil at Brick Court Chambers.
Her recent work includes acting as expert counsel to the Council of Europe.
Random fact
Kimberly has always been drawn to the law, but in another life she might well have pursued a career in cryptozoology.
