Lydia advises on the full range of employment law issues, both contentious and non-contentious, from recruitment through to termination of employment including:

  • bringing and defending claims in the Employment Tribunal
  • drafting and advising on senior level service agreements, contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks, policies and procedures
  • advising on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and retirement procedures
  • advising on termination issues, including commercial settlements and compromise agreements
  • advising on post-termination issues including restrictive covenants

Lydia has a particular interest in whistleblowing and contributed to the Employment Lawyers Association’s response to the Government’s consultation on referrals to regulators of tribunal claims involving whistleblowing allegations.

Recent work advising

  • a hedge fund defending whistleblowing and sex discrimination claims by former employee
  • a software development company defending a sex discrimination claim and subsequently issuing High Court proceedings for recovery of loan
  • a publisher to defend tribunal claims by freelance staff bringing claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination
  • businesses and senior executives on senior level termination packages
  • and reviewing businesses on their employment documents, practices and procedures
  • a senior employee on whistleblowing claim against a major investment bank
