My secretary

Caroline is a solicitor in the employment team. She specialises in employment law, working in all key areas. Her particular interest is the expanding area of discrimination law and she was actively involved in the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s consultation on the drafting of the “Equality Act 2010 - Code of Practice on Employment”.

Caroline is a regular speaker at the FSI breakfast forums and contributor to the FSI e-alert service. She also provides bespoke in-house training for clients and partner organisations on topical employment issues.

Caroline is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is the main contact for the firm’s membership of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

Recent work advising

  • on grievance and disciplinary issues for a range of clients, most recently advising a media client in relation to a grievance containing allegations of sex discrimination and sexual harassment
  • on staff handbooks, policies and procedures, including equal opportunities policies
  • a high profile organisation in the retail and leisure sector on varying terms and conditions of employment
  • on discrimination and unfair dismissal claims in the Employment Tribunal, most recently for a media client, securing a favourable outcome
  • individual defendants and claimants on discrimination claims in the Employment Tribunal
  • a manufacturing client on the employment implications of a closure of part of its business and the resulting redundancy process
  • employers and employees on the terms and effect of compromise agreements

Random fact

Caroline enjoys travelling and has lived in Holland, the USA and Spain.
