Emily is a partner in the private client team. She specialises in the administration of complex estates and trusts and has particular expertise in contentious trusts and probate work. She leads the Trust and Probate Litigation Sector Group which is formally recognised by the UK Legal 500 2010.

Emily is an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, Law Society Probate Section and Solicitors for the Elderly.

Recent work advising

• the close member of a deceased’s family when the deceased died and left his estate to a non-related carer and securing a payment for our client representing a significant share of the estate
• the beneficiaries of an estate of a prominent artist in relation to claims that the Will was invalid and negotiating a settlement on their behalf
• a well known charity drawn into litigation concerning the lifetime affairs of a deceased where the charity was a residuary beneficiary under the deceased’s WillThe clients advised are diverse but each case is complex, requiring a commercial and forward thinking approach in all cases in order to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.
